Comida is pleased to announce that we are once again hosting a wine matching dinner, the second of the 2021 winter series.
The second Wine Dinner of 2021 will take place 6pm to 9pm on Saturday 31st July, and will be hosted by Thorvald's international cheese expert Virginnia Thomas, and Kahurangi Estate's local food legend Dave Barrett.

We are very lucky to have Virginnia, Dave, Thorvald and Kahurangi Estate hosting the dinner. It promises to be a tasty and entertaining evening!
Of course, the Comida kitchen will serve a dish that endeavors to showcase the Thorvald/Little River cheese and dairy products, and complement the wines.

There are four wines and a port that will be tasted, each paired with a dish from Chef Brad Lester:*:

The dishes will be paired with four wines from the Kahurangi Estate Reserve range - Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Rosé, Pinot Gris and the Mt Arthur Reserve Chardonnay, and a Port (Krohn Ruby Ambassadeur).
There are some good things about winter, and an evening of great wine, cheese, and the stories of two wine and cheese experts, is certainly one. Do come and join us, it promises to be a great night!
- Little River Blue cheese with walnut bread, and a pear and fig relish.
- Beetroot Carpaccio with Little River cream cheese, roast Hazelnuts, and sherry vinegar.
- Roasted chicken with Little River Brie soubise, crushed peas, red onion and a Cranberry Relish.
- Black cherry with vanilla cheesecake with Little River cream.
- Thorvald Curado cheese with local Pear and Walnut Oat crackers.
